ORAL SURGERY
There are a number of reasons why Oral Surgery may be required, including:
- Impacted Teeth
- Wisdom Teeth are often the most common culprit. Otherwise known as third molars, they are the last set of teeth to develop.
- Because of this, more often than note, these molars fail to properly align in the mouth or fail to emerge through the gum line and become impacted between the jawbone and gum tissue.
- With the oral surgery to remove the teeth, they can cause permanent damage to nearby teeth, the gums and bone.
- Tooth Loss
- This is where Dental Implants are recommended. An alternative to Dentures, the implants are tooth root substitutes that are surgically anchored in the jawbone and serve as stabilizers to the artificial teeth to which they are attached.
